rev. Matt Miofsky – Pastor

Matt has a lot of ideas! One of them was to start a new church in the city of St. Louis that would be compelling to new generations of people. He is interested in how we form community that serves God and changes lives. He believes there are too many people searching for a place to belong or a way to contribute their passions to a purpose larger than themselves. Matt’s desire is to form a community for and with such people, so that together we can seek to follow Christ. Matt is a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis (math major of all things) and received his Master of Divinity degree from Emory University in Atlanta . He is married to Jessica and has three children, Caleb, Carly and George.

pastor of spiritual formation

After three great years in Atlanta, Nate has come home to join The Gathering.  He grew up in Herculaneum, Missouri, located about 35 miles south of The Gathering, and later graduated from Saint Louis University and Saint Louis University School of Law.  While he worked as an attorney in a large St. Louis law firm for three years, it quickly became apparent that he was called to something else.  Eventually, he left his job and attended Emory University’s Candler School of Theology from which he graduated in May 2007. He also began the process towards ordination in the United Methodist Church.  He, his wife, Tammy, and 2-year old daughter Emily are happy to be part of The Gathering.

stella martin -
community business director

Stella manages the church office and general business affairs. She is passionate about supporting the community and contributing to The Gathering in many ways. She desires to help others and enjoys building new relationships. Stella grew up in Arlington, Texas, and graduated from Greenville College in Greenville, Illinois with a degree in sociology and business. She is excited to be a part of The Gathering’s community.

andy waggoner-

director of worship ministries

Andy is very excited about serving here at the Gathering! He shares a passion for leading others in worship and deepening our communication with God through worship expereinces. He comes to us with much experience in the areas of music, worship planning and evangelism. Prior to coming here, Andy served as Director of Worship Arts at St. John UCC in St. Charles, MO and St. Paul UCC in Waterloo, IL. He is currently the Artistic Director and Conductor of the Collinsville Chorale and participates in acting and musically directing community theatre. He has been a member, conducted or performed solo work with 20 community theatre productions, The St. Louis Metro Singers and The St. Louis Symphony Chorus in such venues as Powell Symphony Hall, Carnegie Hall in New York, The Sheldon Concert Hall and The Cathedral Basilica. christy huettenmeyer -
director of children's ministry

Christy coordinates the development of meaningful spiritual formation for all children birth through 5th grade.  She is passionate about working with the Children's Ministry Team to create compelling worship experiences for The G.U.M. kids.  She also enjoys encouraging others, who have the gifts and desires, to be a part of the Children's Ministry.  Christy graduated from Southwest Missouri State with a degree in Elementary and Early Childhood Education.  She is married to Matt and has two sons, Caleb and Noah.
