Small groups are small communities of people who gather regularly for prayer, study and friendship. Meeting regularly in community is a way we live out our commitments to serve God in community, pray for one another, support one another, and critically think about questions of faith. Most small groups meet for short intervals (4-5 weeks), but some might meet more regularly. If you are new, please consider a small group. None of our groups are closed and new people regularly join. Below are small groups that are currently being offered along with a contact person if you are interested.
advent study-art & worship
Starting November 30 at 7:00 pm, join Nate in the sanctuary for an Advent study on Art and Worship. We have several artists in our community working to create pieces for our sanctuary. This four week series, meeting on Sunday evenings, will explore how we might use art in worship, especially during the Advent season. If you are looking for a way to more deeply explore the season of Advent, to prepare for Christmas or to learn about art and worship, this study is for you. Everyone is welcome. We will meet in the sanctuary on November 30, December 7, 14 and 21. Come to any or all of these sessions. Contact Nate with questions.
living jesus? a skeptics' small group and bible study
Third Monday of every month @ 7 pm - 8:30 pm. Led by Jamaica Duane and Leon Waxer. Meets at Kaldi's Coffee at 700 Demun. All are welcome to an open conversation focused on some of the "harder to swallow" facets of Christianity with particular focus on Jesus. We will use the Bible and writings of religious scholars to facilitate our discussion. Please email Jamaica with any questions and for a copy of the reading. The next meeting is November 17.
Contact Nate, Jenny, or the indicated leader, with questions about any of the small groups.
