The Gathering is a new Christian community in the Dogtown/Maplewood area of St. Louis. When you visit you can expect:
Our desire is for people to experience God in our community and connect with other people who are committed to following Christ. We won’t just be friendly, but offer ways to make friends in the community.
Worship that is deeply rooted in the rich history of Christian liturgy and worship that critically experiments with and uses the best of what technology has to offer. We aren’t here to entertain or practice rote rituals but to experience God by celebrating and lifting up the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ in word, song and ritual.
Our church welcomes and values children of all ages. We know that coming to church with kids is hard so we make every effort to make little ones welcome including a changing room in the back of the worship space, nurseries for infants and toddlers, and children’s ministry for older kids.
We value critical thinking about matters of faith and deepening our understanding of who God is by studying our faith. Many small groups are available on several topics for those who want to learn more. Rev. Miofsky and Rev. Berneking always welcome questions about faith and life.
We intend to consistently and faithfully serve the poor and provide ways for individuals to serve, and be served by, those in need.
