“I feel like the community of The Gathering has helped me heal so much.”
On February 23-26 thousands of United Methodists from around the world will gather in St. Louis for a Special Session of The General Conference to decide how the church will be in ministry with LGBTQ individuals going forward.
Since The Gathering started, 12 years ago, we have been a church that is fully inclusive of queer people. We believe our LGBTQ brothers and sisters are known by God, loved by God, and have a place in all levels of leadership at our church.
Before the conference we decided to sit down with some members of the LGBTQ community in our congregation to hear their stories of finding healing and hope at The Gathering.
