Another Easter Challenge // M-Note 4.12.25

In our current culture, most of us are so busy thinking about and managing our own lives that we have little room to think much about others. I get it. Between work, my family, stuff to do around the house, and keeping up with a few friends, my time is tapped. Yet, this way of living can negatively impact us. When we are too focused on self, we can grow stressed, anxious, and overwhelmed. Ironically, there is a lot of evidence that focusing less on self and more on others can reverse these feelings. Becoming less self-focused and more oriented to others can lead to higher levels of happiness, less stress, and greater joy. It turns out Jesus was right when he said that we find our lives by giving them away!

Serving is a great way to focus less on self and more on others. And Easter is a great time to try it out. Easter is an incredible day. We will be worshiping together as one church at The Factory in Chesterfield at both 9:00 and 10:45am. With a huge worship celebration, that also means a lot of people serve on Easter!

We still have about 30 opportunities to serve, and I would love it if TODAY we could get them filled. So, if you know you want to serve, let us know here. If not, then let me give you 3 reasons why you should!

1. There are a lot of cool perks. You get a great parking spot, a really cool Gathering Easter t-shirt, a behind-the-scenes perspective, and you STILL get to experience the worship service.
2. You get to help make the experience special for those who are coming for the first time, or those who are seeking a community of hope and healing. Having a cool experience of Jesus on Easter is meaningful. Helping someone else have that experience is next level.
3. You will meet great people, make new friends, and maybe even find a doorway to a new way to serve longer term. You will also go home more joyful. I promise.

If you are convinced, or at least willing to give it a try, sign up here.

Also, all of us can make Easter special by making sure to share the invitation with someone in our life who is looking for something new or may just need a word of hope. You can share the word on social media or grab a postcard this Sunday and take time this next week to invite someone to join you.

I can’t wait to celebrate with you. Have a great weekend, and I will see you in church on Sunday.

Peace,
Matt

I can work during the first service greeting or activities or something with my kiddos! I can send the older one to help in nursery for first service. She's already worked with Liz.
