Stations in the Street - Station 10

“He was oppressed and afflicted,
yet he did not open his mouth;
he was led like a lamb to the slaughter,
and as a sheep before its shearers is silent,
so he did not open his mouth.” Isaiah 53:7

“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” John 15:13

“It is finished.” John 19:30

44 It was now about noon, and darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon, 45 for the sun stopped shining. And the curtain of the temple was torn in two. 46 Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.”[e] When he had said this, he breathed his last. Luke 23:44 - 46

Jesus died. He died. Our greatest fear is death. He was not insulated from that fear. He was not protected from that reality.
His physical body stopped working.
His friends watched Him die.
