CoreGroup Guide | Easter

Written by Jenny Huffman

Welcome
Christ is Risen! He is Risen, indeed. Happy Easter! The goal for today is to simply connect with one another and reflect on the good news of Christ’s resurrection.

From Pastor Charity
Take a moment to invite your CoreGroup to our One CoreGroup One Day event happening on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, from 6-8pm at the McCausland Site. This is THE CoreGroup event of the year! It’s a celebration of what we’re building together. Expect food, worship, connection, giveaways, and a few surprises. Please encourage group participants to sign-up at the link above before leaving your group today.

Discussion Questions
We just finished our Emotional Rollercoaster series. Phew! What a ride. As you think about the last week of Jesus’s life on earth, what resonates most with you in this season?

  • What is bringing you the most triumph and joy right now?

  • When do you feel the heat of justified anger creeping in?

  • Where are the places of anxiety, worry, or fear still taking up space in your spirit?

The Resurrection is one of the most powerful parts of our Christian faith. The dictionary defines Resurrection as, “the rising of Christ from the dead” or more generally as “the state of one risen from the dead.” Synonyms include: Revival, Rebirth, Renewal, and Revitalization.

  • What does the word Resurrection mean to you? Which of the synonyms listed above resonates most with your understanding of Resurrection, and why? Share examples!

  • In what ways does the Resurrection of Christ impact your faith today?

  • What prevents you from fully experiencing the power of the Resurrection?

Closing Prayer
Thank you Lord, for this journey, for the example of your life here on earth, and for the gift of the resurrection. Thank you for healing our past hurts and resentments, and for helping us to let go of our guilt and shame. Thank you for the opportunity to gather together with these people today and for the promise of new life you’ve given to us all. Thank you, God, for these words of hope:

“So then, if anyone is in Christ, that person is part of the new creation. The old things have gone away, and look, new things have arrived.” 2 Corinthians 5: 17

Happy Easter, Friends! Go in Peace. Amen.
