This weekend is going to be a huge day of celebration at The Gathering. There are at least 5 compelling reasons to be in worship on Sunday!
1. Provide food for those who need it.
Our food drive culminates this weekend to help the STL Area Foodbank ahead of Thanksgiving. Bring all your food this Sunday and we will load it straight onto a truck to be delivered on Monday. Check here for a list of the most needed items.
2. Bless teachers and students at our partner schools.
Bring your Giving Tree gifts to help teachers and students throughout St. Louis. These gifts encourage teachers and give them resources to better serve kids in our partner schools.
3. Decorate for Christmas.
We will be decorating all our sites for Christmas immediately following worship. We will provide lunch, Christmas music, and all the direction you need. Please stay for a bit and help us make our spaces ready for new people this holiday. It is a ton of fun.
4. Celebrate Much Given, Much Expected and get a cookie!
This Sunday, I will announce the results of our Much Given, Much Expected generosity initiative, and you will want to hear it. Your commitment to give over the next two years will fund all of our ministry and impact thousands of lives. It isn’t too late to fill out a card. You can fill it out online or bring your card to church. We will have cookies for everyone after worship to celebrate.
5. Hear an Inspirational Message on Thanksgiving.
I will finish our series Three Weeks of Thanks with an impactful message about how to practice gratitude when life is hectic and busy. I will give you three easy ways to begin creating a rhythm of gratitude in your life along with a gift to help you do it!
I love this season, and it is going to be a great weekend to be at The Gathering. It is also the perfect time to invite someone to see what this community is all about. I am so grateful to be your pastor. You all are creating a special church, and I am excited for the season and year ahead. Come be a part of it, and I will see you Sunday.
Peace,
Matt
