4 Ways to Engage this Sunday // M-Note 9.19.26

This weekend, The Gathering continues our 20th Anniversary celebration, and I hope all of you are in worship to be a part of it. Worship will be powerful, the message important, and we have a lot of meaningful and fun ways for you to engage. In particular, I hope that in addition to coming to worship, all of you will do 4 things this weekend:

  1. Share your “defining moment” during your time at The Gathering. Share a memorable moment, a step of faith you’ve taken here, or a way the church has changed your life. I deeply value hearing everyone's story. You can share them by recording a quick video here or posting a card on our Defining Moments timeline at all of the sites.
  2. This weekend, we will be celebrating the Literacy Partnership and inviting all of you to consider serving this school year. To celebrate, every child at The Gathering will get a free book this weekend. Along with the gift, I hope that you will consider serving. You can check out the opportunities or learn more here.
  3. We will have CANDY this weekend along with Gathering bumper stickers. Make sure to grab some after worship.
  4. Last year, we launched our Much Given, Much Expected generosity initiative. We took time to share a vision for the next 2 years at The Gathering and asked all of you to support the future of our church through a 2-year giving commitment. We are now 1 year into the initiative and already seeing the impact of your giving. Since many of you are new, I want you to hear about our vision. I hope you will grab a Much Given booklet at any of our sites this weekend or read about it online here. This October, those of you that haven’t done so will have an opportunity to make a commitment to be a part of it for next year.

This Sunday, our West County Site will have a preview worship service. If you live in West County or St. Charles, I hope you will check out our newest site and invite someone you know to come with you. Worship is at 10am at the Reverie at The District in Chesterfield. Be a part of creating the newest site of The Gathering, and join us at West County.

I can’t wait to continue our series Defining Moments this weekend and celebrate with all of you!

Peace,

Matt

P.S. Have you ever wondered if you should become a pastor? I know, it is a weird thing to think about. But many of you have the gift, and some of you are feeling a nudge towards exploring ministry as a vocation. This fall, we are starting a small group for those that want to explore a call to ministry. To be a part of it or to learn more, just email Pastor Tim here.
