Debunked - Week 4

Today we’re talking about the Christian cliche “The bible says it, I believe it, that settles it.” This is not found in scripture but the idea was popularized in the 70's through some gospel songs. I understand the urge to simplify and accept the Word at face value, it requires little work, very little critical thinking and seems like an easier way to move through a very complex text. However, we do ourselves and others a disservice when we approach the holy scriptures this way. Let's unpack it together.
