The Gathering Underground Recovery Community (URC) is a worship service for addicts, loved ones, spiritual rebels, and hope seekers who have often felt unwelcome and/or stigmatized in more traditional “church” settings.
The URC welcomes you wherever you are spiritually, and for who you are authentically.
Some may be angry at God or have written Jesus off completely. Others may be struggling with, or even leaning into skepticism with this whole faith thing.

Or maybe a few have been so sick from the disease of addiction, have tried everything, and are fully ready to surrender to the love and grace only found in the ministry of Jesus.

Whether any of this sounds familiar, or you are somewhere in-between, it is okay and you are welcome in this community.
Each week, we meet for coffee and a time to catch up with one another. We celebrate you where you are, and follow those celebrations with a short message weaving the love and grace of Jesus into our active recovery. Then, a personal story teller shares their battle in active addiction, and is literally the light of hope within their own recovery story. Finally, we pray for those who are hurting.

After we meet as a community, traditional and non-traditional 12-step meetings are offered for those looking for a recovery group.
If you have any other questions about URC, please let me know.

I hope you'll join us. And bring a friend.

at the URC we are...

Radically Inclusive
The disease of addiction is radically inclusive and does not discriminate, therefore we are a radically inclusive, Jesus-seeking ministry.
Authentic
We are NOT your typical Sunday service, dressed in your typical Sunday best, speaking in your typical Sunday church proper. We don’t want your “Sunday Best”....we want your “Wednesday Worst.” Please come as you are.
A Touchpoint, Not THE Touchpoint
We believe in and promote multiple paths to active recovery and support 12-step recovery meetings in various shapes and sizes. This ministry is in addition, not in lieu of.
The Light
We must always be invitational! As a community, we are the light that shines within the deep darkness of this disease, and we must be the guiding light for those that are seeking.
Of Service
The opposite of addiction is connection. Serving others who fight this disease is a deeply spiritual form of connection. We must always be of service.
