The Gathering welcomes and values LGBTQ persons and invites them to participate in all aspects of our ministry. What binds us together at The Gathering is our desire to follow Christ together. We celebrate our diversity as a reflection of God’s creation and invite you, whatever your sexual orientation or your gender identity, to join us just as you are.
As an LGBTQ community, many of us have been deeply hurt by exclusion, alienation, and discrimination.
For some, a relationship with God felt like an impossible choice between our identity and our faith. And yet, God never left. No matter what was told to us on the outside, the inside told us a different story. At The Gathering, we echo this story – your story.
As a community of LGBTQ members and allies, the Emerge | LGBTQ Connection is dedicated to inclusion, connection, and healing. With small groups, social events, service projects, and outreach opportunities, you’ll find a group of people to support, love, and remind you that you are known by God and loved by God – exactly as you are. We hope you’ll join us.

One of the most compelling things we have is our story. Stories have the unique power to encourage, heal, strengthen, and connect lives. For the LGBTQ community surrounding experiences in faith, these stories often have a transformative power.
In this series, Emerge members Tricia, Gilberto, Jaclyn, and Dan share their personal journey of growing up in faith, the gift of finding acceptance, and using these experiences to create a future where God’s love prevails.
