WHAT IS A SUMMER HANG?
Basically, it’s anything fun that helps people connect - think backyard BBQs, park meetups, pickleball showdowns, board games, service projects, dog walks, taco nights...you get the idea. It’s casual, it’s low-stress, and it’s all about community.
Right now, when more and more people are feeling socially disconnected, these small gatherings matter. They build trust, create belonging, and bring joy - not just for us, but for our neighbors, coworkers, and friends.

HANG HOST PRO-TIPS
- The earlier you submit your Hang = the more opportunity for people to see it and register!
- If you are hosting a reoccurring Hang, keep it to 2-3 dates. You can always add dates down the road.
- July tends to be HOT, consider planning indoor or evening Hangs.
- Plan a Hang that YOU enjoy doing - joy is contagious!

Get ready for an unforgettable adventure! Camp Gathering is a family-friendly, nature-focused experience where families learn, explore, and grow together. Whether you're hiking, storytelling, or stargazing, every moment is designed to bring your family closer to nature, and to each other. Please register to attend so we can best prepare for your time with us!

student summer trips
High Schoolers are headed to Colorado Springs June 13-21! We'll be partnering with Next Step Ministries and our neighbors in the Rockies working on home repair and similar projects.
Middle Schoolers attend UNITE Camp July 20-24! We'll be worshipping, gaming, laughing, growing, all with hundreds of other students from around Missouri. We're also taking time to serve the community around campus.

Reach out to Ashley Pondoff, Director of Wellness
Ashley Pondoff is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, originally from Los Angeles, who moved to St. Louis in 2010 to attend graduate school at Washington University. She’s dedicated the last 10 years to working in the mental health field, and, most recently, worked as a therapist. She has been a part of The Gathering since 2010 and attends the Clayton site with her husband, Chris, and their 10-year-old son, Charlie.
Ashley credits being a part of The Gathering community as an important part of her own healing journey. She loves to read, savor every moment of the changing seasons, and most of all, sit with people over a cup of coffee and hear their stories.
