Easter weekend is here! Yesterday, we started loading in and preparing the Stifel Theatre for Easter worship. Remember, we will only have ONE worship service this Sunday, all together at Stifel Theatre (formerly Peabody Opera House). Doors open at 9:45AM, worship begins at 10:30AM.
If your Easter plans are still undecided, or if you need some details to convince family or friends to join you, here are 10 reasons why you will not want to miss Easter with The Gathering:
10. Take a memorable family picture! We will have a photo wall along with a lot of cool spots for a family picture. Post to Instagram using #EasterSTL.
9. Incredible live music! The Red and Black Brass Band will be playing when the doors open at 9:45AM until worship begins.
8. We’re ready for you! With over 150 volunteers serving that morning, we are ready to greet you, serve you, and help you in any way you need. And there’s still room if you want to volunteer to serve, it is a meaningful way to spend your Easter, and we would love to have you. Sign up here.
7. Free parking! Street parking in downtown is free on Sundays, there are lots of spots around Stifel Theater, and you can drop off passengers directly in front of Stifel. We will have golf cart shuttles running before and after services.
6. Kids ministry! We will have an awesome kids ministry experience for kids ages birth through 5 years old.
5. A chance to make a difference! 100% of our offering will go towards impacting public schools in St. Louis through our Literacy Project.
4. Plenty of room! We have enough seats (3200 to be exact) for you and all of your family in a beautifully restored historic building. So invite your friends right here.
3. One site all together! It’s your chance to see all the people of The Gathering in one place and hear an inspiring message about the hope that Easter brings to our lives. Plus, there will be a group trivia question that I need your input on.
2. You’ll leave inspired! We’ve designed a worship service that will leave you inspired, hope-filled and re-energized, led by our own superband with Ryan Hebel (in a seersucker suit), Sarah Turner, Katie Noland, Neil Ostercamp, Aly Chisum, and other Gathering musicians from all of our sites on stage together!
1. You’ll hear the Good News! We’ll be celebrating the resurrection of Jesus and remembering that life conquers death, hope conquers fear, and joy conquers despair. Who doesn’t need that?
Easter is the culmination of our story of faith, and it is a time for great celebration for our church. All the details for the day are right here . I hope that you will take a moment right now and share the invitation on social media.
I cannot wait to see you there!
Peace,
Matt
P.S. Tonight, we will be remembering the events of the upper room through Maundy Thursday worship at our Clayton Site. Come anytime between 5:30 and 7:30pm for this interactive experience. Good Friday worship is tomorrow at the McCausland site at 7PM. Join us as we commemorate Jesus’ death on the cross and what it means for us.
